length of glass panel

I am not understanding the question, if you order glass it is cut to what you want, not a special order. whither standered size or not, its all milled to the specks you request.

you bet, but cost you, they will charge by SQ foot, and delivery. same as any size pane, not a charge for having it milled at those specks.

A place here quoted me 344 with tax and delivery included for 1/2 inch 3ft X 8ft but iv learn i should go with 2ft not 3ft if im going to make a big tank

now to say, why would you order 20ft pane of glass, you get that big its all about acrylic, not going to happen in glass.

I can not suggest what you need or do not need. Guess i am wrong, there are limits with in logical reasons on ordering glass. 20ft plate of glass for a fish tank is well out of reason.

Not sure about 1/2 inch, but 1/4 and 3/8 inch are fairly available in lengths up to 120-130 inches as the panes are produced in something like 120x84 to 130x84 (depending on the manufacturer) then cut down. Some local shops may have it readily available, others will order it from their suppliers cut to size. I'm thinking half inch may be shorter. I was just at a glass shop inquiring about 3/8 inch yesterday so I know the 130 was available. In some small or remote towns it might take an act of congress to get a sheet that size.

Well id like to do a 4x8x2 but then i thought maybe instead of 8 go to a 10 for a tank ... but someday would like to have a shark tank and wondered how long a sheet i could buy... say do you know how far apart you can go befor needing vertical braces?
