Hi, has anyone had problems of their rays flipping over on their back? I have had a wierd problem over the years that no one seems to know the problem. I lost two flowers and a Leo to this problem.
It starts with the ray flipping over and won't or can't turn it self back over. I have to turn it back over. I seems fine for a day or so then does it again. If I'm not around to catch it the ray ends up scraping the skin off the top of it's head. The other rays ended up getting an infection and stopped eatting and passed away.
I have tried everthing I can think of. I have kepted rays and breed them for many years. Any thoughts???
Thanks, Jim

Never have I ever heard of this..... I'm sure someone will have some comments though......

mine used to swim upsidedown but i never heard of this problem....

Hi Jim
I thought the other won't do that. Will a little stronger current next to the bottom of the tank helps them to flip back up when you're not home? Sorry...just a thought.

Gr8 idea, I would also go bare bottom until you figure out whats wrong...

hmmmmm im not sure but i read that metal content in tap water can be damaging to organs of fish, but its gonna be different to each area, best ting you can do is e mail your local water board and ask if there is anyhting in particular in the content that can damage your rays
