Hey guys, at some point of time I might just consider converting my tetra community tank into a mini predator tank. The tank's heavily planted, I am considering getting one leopard bush fish a.k.a Leopard Ctenopoma. The tank is a 36g. I want to know what possible tankmates should I get with the ctenopoma?

I was going to suggest large tetras like Buenos Aires and Congo...since they are more active

Zig zag eel would be fine. I have my ctenopoma with a trio of young keyhole cichlids, two young festivums, a brown ghost knifefish, and two golden wonder killies, and haven't had any problems. People seem to like putting leopard ctenopoma, african butterfly fish, and s.a. leaf fish together, but I haven't tried it myself. Just avoid mixing it would anything too boisterous, or anything small enough to swallow

nice! i have two. slower moving fish are best as they can be a little shy if spooked.
as long as they not too small or too mean then its up to you.
i have mine with two african butterflies, two hoplo cats, a ruby shark, some kribs and three bn pleco all get on fine.

Would a bichir make a good tankmate? Was thinking of probably getting a senegal bichir as well. Though this is not really aconfirmed thing.

They do well with almost every fish that is not too aggressive an is large enough to not fit into its mouth. African butterfly is a good idea for a 36. I wouldn't do a bichir in that size of a tank.
