Leopard Ctenopoma

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
mine has been growing about 1/2" a month...

My biggest Ctenopoma which is now a lil over 3" was about 1" when I first got him a year ago. My littlest one was just barely an 1' and after about 6 months he's around 1.5"-2". Their now in my 75 gal, before that they were in a 16 gal for several months and did fine in there. Their absolutely my favorite fish.

I don't think they need to be in groups or anything. I think they just need other fish that are "out"... they are kind of shy and if they see other fish out and about they will come out too.

But I keep mine in a group of 4 right now. You might have a problem with a group in that small of a tank... they love to bully each other and even in my tank (75 gal) the biggest one forces most of them into hiding a lot of time. I would imagin they would get chased endlessly in that small of a tank.

A tank with Ctenopoma and an African butterfly would be interesting, maybe with a small school of barbs or something as dithers
