one of my friends just gave me her female leopard gecko because she didn't want to take care of it anymore and one of the things i noticed was she had skin on her toes. i just figured it was because she had shed recently but she just shed ans now, as i look closer, it seems like theres more than 1 layer to the skin:WHOA:. is this a problem and is there a way to treat it? also im looking to breed her so any tips would be great.

i used to have a leo with a similar problem, just keep soaking her in warm water every day

:Iagree:
And also provide a humid hide, which is just a regular hide but you humidify it, this gives it the chance to easily shed its skin when necessary.

give her a bath every day for about 20 mins in a half inch of water then take a wet Q tip and rub the skin off lightly

I agree with all the suggestions here, make sure u soak her toes and use small tweezers to removed the skin layer by layer as she can lose fingers if not taken care of.

ok thanks guys will do

ok so i just tried it and noticed that one of the toes i removed skin from is elongated and red. i was very gentle when i did this what happened and will it heal?

PANIC BUMP!

You probably removed more then you bargain for, I know that been there with my female rescued leo. Just desinfect with oxigenated water and put some ointement like B-pantene, will heal nicely. As for breeding I recomend that you wait at least one year to let her setle in before doing any atempt. My female only now 1 year after her rescue is completly fine. I made a atempt early on, she mated but for some reason didnt get pregned. Will try again next year.
