Leopard gecko's are nocturnal. Having a light shinning on them is not a great way to make them happy. It's very stressful. The best thing for them would be to remove the light and place an under-tank heater on one side of the tank.

Steve Sykes...*Owner of Gecko's Ect.* was on reptile radio and covered the topic of Heat Lights. If a guy who has breed thousands and thousands of leopard gecko's and also is a Herpetologist says it's bad....I've got to go with him haha.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I just want you and your pet's to be happy.

I use an UTH and a nocturnal red heat bulb. I only turn on the normal light during the day to view them....
