Leopard Shark

In all seriousness I believe he's talking about the Indonesian bamboo "leopard shark". If that's the case I wouldn't worry about him trying to keep it alive given their reputation. There's the other slight possibility he's talking about a juvie zebra but I'm still guessing he will stick it in freshwater and he'll watch the process of osmosis kill it.

Leopard sharks (Triakis semifasciata) like we know from the US West coast are only called Leopards here - and are prohibited under 36" total length.

To most of the world, 'Leopard shark' is what we call the Zebra shark (Stegostoma fasciatium) in the US. It's a massive benthic shark from the Pacific.

Some importers have mislabled Indonesian / Hasslet's bamboo shark (Chiloscyllium hasselti) as 'leopard' as well. Those tend to die in the first 5-7 days of ownership.
