or when someone just throws in a new fish from an iffy source without quarantine

i killed off my whole tank of satanoperca lucosticas like this ,you trying to say something david jk haha

If this was related to fluctuant water chemistry, i would belive that the other two leos in that same tank also would be affected... - well they don`t turn white/gray, so im pretty sure this is a result of she bein bullyed. Luckly it is not long before my new and bigger tank is ready, so hopefully more room = less bullying...(?) As an alternative i could leave the victim in the tank she is in right now, and only move the others...

It`s not a big problem though. The other female stress her out now and then... but most of the time she leaves her alone.

No actually some rays are more sensitive.the tank that i seen this I'n most of mine contained 5 rays.when water gets bad my female Leo turns pale right away and stops eating.the other rays were not bothered.some are like this my friend.if the ray was bullied where's the bite marks???

Post #5 already states the ray occasionally gets chunks bitten out of her.

its been a while since i read this thread .probably the reason than in the photos of her i never seen any chuncks missing she just looked spooked or stressed real bad

Thank you for sharing your experience - i could definitely be wrong. Anyway i will monitor the parameters more closely for a period of time now...
Btw, she had some smaller bitemarks at the time i started this tread - it`s just not so easy to tell from that picture i took.

Hmm my male laticeps gets a pale color sometime to him, hes the biggest in the tank. He has two fine females who never turn pale. Im a regular wc junkie. He is never bullied. So did the op come to a conclusion? Stress from tankmate?
