Just wondering if anyone knows who has them and whether theyll be having pups anytime soon. I saw some leoxmotoro for sale a few months ago and didnt have the space or money for them.
But now im rearranging tanks and stock and id really love to get a ray, still dont have the $1500+ for one but if i know when pups are due i can adjust my saving habits accordingly lol
cheers

pure leos in Aus will be $10k+ for a pup if you can get your hands on one that is so start saving if you want one.

Not familiar with Australian laws, but can you purchase a Leo from say the states or Germany as an individual and
import it yourself? If so, it would be much cheaper than buying one already there. OUCH

I imagine it would be cheaper to go this way

what is the process of getting a fish imported? what would be involved in doing that ?

the main problem with what you suggested is that the extra time spent in customs figuring out the procedures/ paper work might cost the ray life....not to mention delays ,etc.
you will save money but you'll also take some chances.

If only it was that easy Australian laws do not permit importations of any freshwater stingrays so all of the rays in Aus somehow found their way into the country hense the high prices, btw $10k was only a starting price currently i belive they are around $25k+ for a pair of 5in pups.

I used to know a bloke who breeds them, and sold the pups for 15k each, but is giving his rays a rest period at the moment, so no pups for 1-2 years from him.
