So its illegal to import and own them or just to import them. Were some already there before the ban and just grandfathered in so to say.

It's not illegal to own them, unless they can PROOVE the fish was 'imported' recently.

I used to know a bloke who breeds them, and sold the pups for 15k each, but is giving his rays a rest period at the moment, so no pups for 1-2 years from him.

Well if you remember, please send me a pm when he starts breeding again.
