Leo's stinger question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry . I was wrong. She stung my male. Right on the edge of his disk. He seems fine. Just torn skin. Already healing.
Any signs to watch for?

Nothing to worry about. This is very common with rays always fighting/playing with eachother

Most of my rays barbs turn like that before they drop off

But what ever happened it's nothing to worry about

A barb like that with the sheath rubbed off is usually an indication it nailed something with the tip. It can be a tank mate (like you saw) or something as simple and snagging it against a decoration in the tank.
You should be ok. Like you said, just keep an eye on it.

Now here's a dumb question.
Now that he's been stung, is he smart enough to know not to mess with her again.? Or worse, now that she stung him once, will she be apt to do it more often?
I guess no way to tell but what do you think?

Maybe he'll learn how to keep messing with her and not get stung...

My male just got stung again by my female. This time, wound is bleeding.
Should I separate? Or should I start cutting stingers?

This happens to my male all the time. They heal crazy fast but i do divide them.

I have also been cutting my females stingers.
