so they have this fish in the import list at 50 euros... my question is:
Lepisosteus tristoechus
witch one is it?

can anyone show me some pics of some?

thanks

they usually don't correspond to the scientific names, the gars they have, as you know Filipe.

They also say they have spotteds..

but does anyone know what they mean by this fish?

miguel i guess you are ordering some also... :D

it's the cuban gar... :naughty:

it's a cuban gar...for 50 euros? how much is that in american? sounds cheap to me. do you guys have any pics of the actual specimens ordered?

its the old name for the Cuban gar, at one point the Lepisosteus genus was comprised of both the present Lepisosteus AND the Atractosteus genera. therefore, at least the name is referring to the Cuban gar, whether or not the fish they have in stock is the real deal would be best confirmed by photo ID. for 50 euros i would say that's pretty cheap!--

i have my doubts...but let's wait and see.

It would not surprise me if they where Cuban. It is usually this time of year when the surplus fish are released from the farm in Zapata and sent out for overseas sale. If an importer was to bring in a large enough load of them they would be reasonably priced. 50 euros I take it is the individual bulk wholesale price and not retail.

interesting. i thought they were a bit more rare than this though. maybe things here in the us are a bit more difficult to come by?
