I feel sorry for the younger generation. With all the abbreviating and texting, they do not learn how to write and spell correctly. Lack of communication skills will affect them when they go out into the real world.

kind of pointless to rant about legitimate abbreviations. are you going to go around saying nasdaq or National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation. Are you going around saying I'm a self contained under water breathing apparatus diver, or just scuba diver.

Now if you're talking about txt speak that's different. I shudder when I see a 50+ something person I know with the "where ru 2nite" texts. you've got a full keyboard on your phone - use it!
