I mean if the cats are so precious and valuable to you, do you think you should let them run free? I mean even a car could run over them.

well yea they should be kept indoors, but my cat is slightly diffrent

he is an indoor/outdoor cat, if he want to go outside we let him outside, he usually lets me know by sitting at the door and look straight into my eyes like *can i go out please*, but the thing is that he never leave the boundaried of the yard. he is usually sitting under the love seat we have in the backyard or sits on the porch in the front yard in the sun.

he does have restriction though, at night and when no one is home to watch him has to be inside. It really annoys me when im getting ready for school at 5 am and when i get to the kitchen door to leave, he want out :irked:

and he doesnt crap in anyones yard or ours, if he's outside, he will just knock (paw) at the door, we let him in, and he uses the litter box :D

duno really. i dont think cats should be kept indoors, so its a tough call. but if a cat is damaging property then something should be done... a friends car is all scratched up because of his neighbours cat... so. i think most people out there dont mind cats roaming in the UK, and the ones that do try and run them over if they can anyway...

dont expose them to the outdoors when thy are kittens, they will learn to live and like that way.

Cats must roam free. It has always been that way. They cause no harm. Heck, birds poop on your car and you don't trap them. Furthermore, cats cause no danger in any way, shape or form, as opposed to stray dogs.

My cat for sure roams free, and anyone who catches it will be in big trouble. Not with the law, but with me. :mr-t:

oh but they are

cats are a big problem to wildlife. especially if they become ferrel cats, they can and will kill native and non-native fauna and even endangered species in some areas.

birds poop on cars because we are in their way, nothing you can do about, we are not in control of them because they are wild

cats on the other hand are an animal under someones control, and if they are not under control and do harm or become a nuicence , then it does become a problem.

and my cat at my moms house doesnt roam free, she stays inside 24/7, she doesnt even like to go outside, snce she was never exposed to the outdoors and yet she is as happy as a cat can possibly be.:)

ok i watch the video people like that need to get a life it is a damn cat let it roam keep it in who cares its a cat . i dont care if my nabours cat walks on my lawn , hell if it killed a bird or squirl on my lawn i would probably sit and watch . both families in the video need to GET A LIFE nothing better to do than ***** about nothin,.

I now have a similar problem with dogs. I live in a rural area and my neighbors allow their dogs to run free. My immediate neighbor breeds Cain Corso Mastiffs and has nine of these dogs. This is a potentially dangerous animal so I have taken to carrying a pistol when walking my dogs(on a leash).

 No wonder why so many people get killed by dogs in Usa...
Here that is strictly forbidden. On leash always in populated areas..

http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/duip/dogbreeds.pdf

Pitbulls and Amstaffs are also forbidden here, and I think that's ok.
Pitbulls banned, but snakeheads are legal

My cat was outside most of its life, found him outside, and he always liked going outside. I don't know if I just don't have any snotty neighbors but I had no problems with my cat. Now I can see if your neighbor has 15 inbread cats running around outside and pooping on your front step or something like that, that you would want to stop it. I still think both people in that video are just snobby. As far as the video shows, there was no damage done and these people just didn't like each other. I can't beleive a news program would have that as a story(and more than a ten second story at that).

HEADLINE: *****y neighbor captures cat after it walks on her lawn!!:headshake

But to each their own- my cousin, in Wisconsin, shoots ferrel cats legally:eek:
I think they actually have a cat season:ROFL:

You're so right: the precious wildlife in suburbia
Cats don't do anything racoons haven't already tried ...

It's illegal in our County to allow cats and dogs to roam free. They are known to spread disease.

So it it fair my old neighbors three cats would surround my ex's pit and then they all would take turns scratching his poor face?...They would attack him and I couldn't do anything about it. I was so worried he would eat them I had to muzzle him at times. and without the muzzle, if he faught back and accidently killed one, he would then be put to sleep. How is this fair?
