Let the paranoia begin!

Can't find anything to support Andy's assertion about teleportation of matter with mass. I can only find articles about photons.

I was under the impression that they had physically moved a set of excited electrons, as in moving something with "memory" and the excited state being considered a "1" or "on"

however if there is no articles supporting that i must have misinterpreted the report.

I don't see how moving a photon can be considered teleporting, since they have no physical presence.

The act of moving them surely would be limited by the latency of which the machinery needed. So the academic part of the experiment was to make the machine move fast enough, BUT, if it could move fast enough then we'd already be at the quantum level.

...This whole thing has suddenly perplexed me greatly.

Basically, in order to know it moved really fast, we have to see it move really fast.

But, in order to capture something fast, it must be faster... infinite loop.

Quantum teleportation isn't actually teleportation. It's just the transfer of data using light in a quantum computer.

Well, not quite. It has been done in free space over a distance of 16km (Chinese last year)

It's a process waaaayyyyyy over my head, but I do like to read about these kinds of things. It involved entangled photon pairs with one separated, traveled a distance of 16km and continued to keep the information of the photon on the other side, even over great distances.

HTH.

When I see the little green people walking around here then I will believe on them !

meh i doubt there are aliens floating around out little planet. why earth? there are so many better planets that are so much more resourceful i am sure. i don't really care to think about it and i don't feel any different with the thought that they are around us. what can i do about it
