The Journey Begins..
My 300 Gallon Glasscages.com tank is finally home.
I Had a tuff time picking this tank out. But with the help
of you guy's on here and a very understanding wife, my Dream
Tank now resides in our "soon to be finished" bonus room.

8x2x2.5 96x24x31 300 gallon built by Glasscages.

I will be stocking the Tank with Central and South American Cichlids......
And a Silver Arowana. The Silver was the deciding factor on the tall tank.
My wife and I loved our old Silver Arowana that commited suicide.
A friend of ours that ran the Nashvile Zoo in Tennessee, bought us a 4 inch Silver Aro as a Aniversary gift (Gotta Love Animal Lovers) and my wife and I raised it untill it was a little over 2 feet long.
One night, it knocked the glass top of a 125g open and fell to the floor.
We found it dried up on the floor the next morning.
Talk about a Kick to the Gut.

But anyway, we decided we wanted another one, so I got the go ahead to purchase the taller 300 gallon tank.

So, Thanks again for those who helped me in my other thread :headbang2and here are a few starter pics.

Just as a side note, thats my family helping move the aquarium from the truck to the stand......After we ate dinner.
And the Coke can is a size reference to the aquarium.
And last but not least, my wife who is exactly 5 feet tall with here shoes on.
She thought she earned the right to pose with the tank.
She was right.....As always

Nice!!! can't wait to see it stocked. Well done.

I have not decided on the filtration as of yet. I know there will be two Emperor 400's there, cause I already have them.
And mabey a Fluval FX5.
I have spent so much time researching the tank, I have not had time to research the filters.
The lighting will be 4 Aqua Glow bulbs in two Homedepot Dual Bulb shoplights. And two 300 watt Stealth heaters for heating.

So far, thats all I got. And with Christmas comming up, I will have to wait before I make another big purchase.

So between now and the first of the year, I will finish the stand/canopy.
Then get the substrate in and fill her up so she can start cycling.

After the first of the year, IT'S ON!!!!!!!!:headbang2:nilly:

O' and I live close to Clarksville in a little town called Pleasant View.
Exit 24 off I-24. About 20 min. From Kentucky.

Great tank! Your wife should have taken a pic inside the tank woulda been super cool.

very nice, have fun with the new tank

NICE!

Depending on your stock list, you might need two FX5 or a cheaper route would be a large sump. And someone correct me, but you might need more than two 300w heaters.

BTW, I've got (3) 5" Red Hook Silver Dollars if you want them(FREE), they will be store credit within the next month!

Oh, one ?........ how was your buying experience with glasscages? I'm sure you have heard the numerous amounts of bashing towards their ability to build tanks and work with customers. I'm just curious if they have stepped up to overcome their history.

Thanks
