Tahoe Mommy

Feeder Fish
MFK Member
Hi everyone,

I am Amy or Tahoe Mommy. I live in Nor Cal. Grass Valley at the moment, but from Donner Summit/Truckee/Tahoe, the whole area in general. I started keeping fish 4 years ago. I started with feeder goldfish who grew to be about 4 inches long, then moved to A GSP Puffer and some Knight Goby's.....from there I bought a 55 and a 30 and several 10's.....I dabbled in a variety of FW fish including African Cich's. Seemed like I spent hours on craigslist looking for used tanks to fill with fish. I was actually banned by my hubby from the fish store. I moved this year in March and gave away all of my fish including tanks. I kept one 55 and my 72, a 30 broke in the move. I now have a brackish set up in the 55 with my first GSP, still alive and well, I also have one of my first Goby's, he is looking good to. I added an F8 Puffer to that group about a year ago and just recently added two more Knight Goby's. This tank is my favorite. My guys will eat right out of my hand. I have a SW set up in my 72 gallon and it was the home of a huge Red Lionfish named Hercules. Recently he was chasing the Damsels, no doubt and somehow gashed his head open on the rocks. It was very sad. I wish I had a way of stitching him up. When I went looking for another Lionfish I found a baby Porcupine Puffer. So I came home and studied, then I decided to bring him home. We have yet to name him. He shares his tank with a Lawnmower Blenny who is right around 1yr old and a Zebra Damsel and a Yellow Damsel who are over a year old now. The Zebra is named Napoleon and he suffers from LMS (little man syndrome) He loves to attack and bite me when I put my hand in the tank. I put green algea in clips at the bottom of the tank once a week for the Blenny and he is biting me the whole time. Hopefully the new puffer will eat him.....that'll teach him. The yellow is a hider she lives in her rocks with the blenny. I also have a long tentacle anemone, the kind with the bluish purple tips. Do not know much about it other than its like a year old now too and every once in awhile I will drop some food by it. Oh and I have a 3 gallon low flow filtered tank on my desk with a gorgeous male Betta in it. He is yellow with red stripes flowing through his fins and an all black face. I named him Mai Tai. Makes me thirsty everytime I look at him. I joined the group, because I love to talk about myself and my fishies. My friends wontlisten to me anymore and i am hoping you guys will be more interested in hearing about my funny stories with my fish.....like how my puffer eats crawdads...now that is a funny story right there. I am done talking ur eyes out now so I will give it a rest and wait to see who responds. I can not wait to meet you guys.
