D ont get me wrong, there are bigger fish ,sharks and rays to be caught and I see them caught by the local pangeros by the hundreds, Im just not really into heavy gear surf fishing. I would rather use a lighter outfit and fish the incoming tide 20 yards offshore and catch fish like 1 every 3 minutes or so. There is just alot more stuff I enjoy doing there than sitting around and casting long distances. But if that is your thing, you would love it.

:shark:
i meant it as shocking that they get smaller...lol...but i think were understanding this better now..:screwy: ...surf fish are genrally the smaller fish (and by surf your talking up to 30yrds out, but im refering to hitting the 2nd and third bar), and you can get all the other fish on a boat using light tackle....gotchya!

i like sittin on the beach with a few rods in spikes...catch fish and maybe a sunbather or two:naughty: ;) ...hey, its happened.........once.

another question... well, maybe 2 or 3...lol...too many questions i know.
1) whens the best time (season) to hit up Mex.?
2) how much do licenses run? $$$
3) whats the drinking age in mexico?:grinno:

1) late spring, summer, fall. This depends on where you go. Im on the Pacific side, so the climate is really nice. The desert parts and the gulf side are silly hot at times (125F) but beyond beautiful.
2) not m0ore than 30$, and you buy them here.
3) 18 years old, but be respectful of the fact that you are in a 3rd world country. Drinking and 18 year olds usuallky mean jailtime.

well, dont have to worry about that then...im 17:D

id prefere the pacific sence thats my home waters...already got a feel for how the tides and currents run out here, from what i understand its different in the Atlantic and Gulf.

anything run in winter? like Halibut, Perch, and larger bass do here in cali?

i think thats my last question..lol.

as for the SARL...id rather be at Hesperia, good campin memories and always a good time...it gets crowded, but doesnt draw the "crowd" that SARL and corona does, although corona isnt as bad.

went to hesperia this weekend, hooked up to 3 sturgeon all well over 4ft. lost them all, one broke off out deep and one spit the hook at the net:screwy:(wouldnt even fit in the net anyways) and the other took about 30yrds of line (20lb test with 12lbs of drag) and apparently was never hooked....also hooked into somethin big that i never saw because my line broke due to abrasion...my guess was a decent size cat.

ended up with 7 cats and 4 trout about 2lbs each. biggest cat was 7lb 1oz.

very windy, lotsa fish caught around the lake and many smaller sturgeon landed.
