its just way too hard to breed these cats...but you'll never know if your catfishes gots eyes for another species lol until you try...maybe when they are bigger they might try it...but what size tank was the one breeding pair of RTC and TSN in? it might help and what the water chemistry it...you might have luck if you replicate it

Not naturally occuring hybrid, it's a man made test tube fish... so.. short answer is no not a at home hybrid ;)

damnnnn :D

Right now they are in 1000 liters tank, temporary home, with 2 gigas (2 tsn and 2 rtc)
they are small, not very sure about their size (last time I measured then tsn has about 9" and the rtcs 10").
I really like this hybrid, and to find some around here is very rare, very very rare. And this fishes comes from here. well, patience......

BTW, thanks guys for helping out

tnx for the comments guys. He's probably somewhat older than 4 years now. I've had him for about 2 yrs 8 months now. Not sure how old he was when I got him. He was 22" and was owned by a mfkr so I'm thinking he was a year old or a little more when I got him. Hopefully within the next year my rtc and mrtc can go in with him. I'll have to get some new pics when I am back from work next time. May not be too much longer and my job might just be as a game warden.

As for breeding them. If you can get your hands on the right chemicals and have a few grand to spend on tanks and equipment for artificially bringing the fish into producing milt and eggs, and then milking them, then and only then you might be able to make this hybrid. Otherwise not going to happen naturally. Could happen on accident if you could get a pair of rtc and a pair of tsn to breed simultaneously very close to each other and their batches were cross contaminated.

you mean my avatar? lol holy crap i didn't i was that noticed around...

They are a cool little fish, just wish it didn't hide most of the time. I guess eventually it will outgrow the hiding spots.

yours hide all the time? mine prowles around all the time never stops, and yes he eats alot.

mines always on the prowl itself...lol never stoping until it gets its fill then its stay's in one spot...but once the lights go out then its off around the tank again thinking he could fit more food in his belly lol
