I was 10 and I was teasing my uncles 14" Oscar and I stuck my finger in the tank (don't ask I wasn't thinking) and all of a sudden it latched onto my finger and took a piece of skin off I'll post a pic when I go home I still have scars and another injury was I was cleaning my turtle tank and the little jack Dempsey went crazy and attacked the gravel vac then my finger then all of a sudden my female red eared slider came out from under the turpentine dock and attacked my wrist. But I never teased an Oscar ever again in my life other than my uncles. Note to self do not tease large fish because they can hurt you

Not me but I coaxed my friend to put his finger in my tank full of 4-6" red snakeheads. One of the snakeheads latched onto his finger so he freaked out and ripped his hand out of the tank with snakehead and all! The snakehead flew accross the room and landed on my sofa. I put him back in the tank and he was fine. Still laugh about it to this day. My friend had some good teeth marks. Needless to say, he doesn't put his hands in my tank anymore. lol

I was trying to open a bucket and i took off my finger nail... :(

I've electrocuted myself a couple times, usually because of having spilled water on a cord and not realizing it. I've sliced open my hand when I was building my indoor pond. I've been bit by 2 of my gars. As well as lots of other minor scrapes.

All part of the fun.

I was moving my pictus cat and didnt have a net, i decided to gently cup him in my hands and his spine snapped of into my palm... He didnt live and there was some blood... I have since bought a net...

I'm surprised how popular this thread got, this quickly. I had a few chuckles reading some of the stories.

I can't count the number of buckets I've dropped or knocked over lol. I've yet to have any major injuries but have had a few good scrapes, like cutting my hand on my glass hood or being stabbed by the dorsal fin of a corydora trapped in a net. Probably the biggest scare was trying to change the tank of a very aggressive Angelfish pair. The female bit me multiple times, taking quite a bit of skin. Keep in mind my Angelfish were 8 1/2 inches tall, so they could pack quite a punch and when they fought you could heard them thumping against the glass.

When i was cleaning my polleni tank one day i must have had my index finger just dangling above the water and BAM... Scared the crap out of me and i wad bleeding a little but nothing serious...

Although since then i've definitely learnt to keep an eye on where my fingers are when messing around with my tanks...
