I'm stuck at home for about an hour so I thought it might be fun to make fun of the stupid things we see and hear in this hobby. I've mentioned a few on other posts before but I thought it might be fun starting a thread about this subject.

I'll start with a few....

Fish names; Guffy or Tuffy = Guppy, Inmates = convicts, Red belly taco = Pacu, Annie Oakly = Heniochus, Chicklit = Cichlid, gormy = gourami

People mispronounce wrasse and pronounce it "wa - see" (god I hate that one)

anemone is "sea enemy" All the time hearing about someone's "volushion" Lion, How many ways have you heard Jurapari pronounced? How 'bout plecostomus? (plavotamus, scum sucker.)

I had one guy tell me he had clamydia (an STD) in his aquarium, it turned out to be calerupa he was talking about. I really lost it on that one.

Let's hear some one elces.....
 
sometimes I see people spell "else" with a "c" :)

I ve seen people pronounce pacu as pac(k)-u .....
 
It's wrong making fun of people :(.


Who am I kidding. I love the people that ask if they can put fish that are saltwater with freshwater fish. :ROFL:
 
what about the people who ask, will my guppy be okay with my flowerhorn
