I hope he didn't and that your just inconvenienced at worst but get some gorgeous fish. Even if he did you can try and keep your head up you never know. I once had a Afer Knife get lost in the mail for a week during a hot summer. I was going to my local PO everyday since the tracking on it was useless. The ladies at the PO knew about the issue and that it was a fish that was lost and asked me to open the box right there because they had hoped it made it and sure enough to all our surprises he was fine. No signs of stress or anything even ate shortly after being released into QT.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I hope that's the case, The parent fish and fry that i'v seen are stunning, so i really hope I get these and they're fine. But I've talked to the seller once (I ordered them 6 days ago). I'm just so used to dealing with mfk vendors and over night shipping... maybe I'm a tad spoiled.

definitely not true texas cichlids because of the worming, also couldn't get an accurate collection point for the parents. but here's a stressed out picture of one, they're pale blue ( the flash washed out the color and makes it look teal ). I'll take a good picture later when they get more comfortable and try to figure out what sp.

I'm glad they made it to you alright despite the wait. As you said it doesn't look to be a true Texas cichlid/ Herichthys cyanoguttatus which is the only cichlid native to the U.S. As jeaninel said it looks to be Herichthys Carpinitis which is often times referred to as Green Texas even though it's found in Mexico. In either case the spangling looks great to me and you'll definitely get some impressive adults when they grow up.

The only information the seller is giving me is that they're "blue texas cichlid" which I can definitely see how light blue they are. He doesn't recall where they originated from, I was really hoping to find the collection point. O well, I guess i'll try to find out when they get larger, either way i'm happy with the order despite the lack of communication.

they're starting to feel comfortable, and appear to be coloring up. I'm excited to see how these turn out the blue is so vibrant.

currently down to 2 1/2 at the moment.. woke up to find one dead, another was hiding behind my moss wall with heavy breathing, the other 2 appear to be doing completely fine. I can only guess that this is an aggression issue. Time to do a water change :/
