True, the adults have vertical bands. The fish pictured here is really small, but you can almost see where the bands will develop. On the other hand, adults have spotting on the tail and dorsal fin. The picture doesn't show any. Hard to tell.
Royal grammas have a spot in their dorsal fin, so I don't think the first one is a royal gramma.

thought we seen a little crab about three months ago in a piece of live rock we got but never seen him again till now but then he was only about 1/2 inch wide if that????
