Wow, I just assumed it was and thought it was like 4" since it was so lethargic and skinny.

I thought it was a little over 7. But it was but up against the side of the tank (10 inches) and was less than an inch of space.

:) ..... Smiley face guesses pretty good

Whatever lap specie it is - Nigerian, koliban, or Nigeria. Should be nice. From the pic. Big head indicative to being WC, end tail along with body slanted, and being very thin.

Cool i never did yhe guilt buying. If a fosh doesnt look healthy i always pass but this thing was pathetic man it would get kicked up amd spun around in the cichlids wake

It looks smaller then 9", probably just the pic.

Its a koliba. Atleast thats what it was sold as. The place has a pretty good reputation so i trust them and the price was good, but who knows maybe just a regular lap cuz i cant ID polys to save my life.

It looks like crap though. Rubbed its snout pretty good, skinny as hell, not the small poly skinny, its skinny like its either starved or has parasites. At first i wasnt gonna buy it cuz i dont need any projects right now. Was looking to do my usual qt which is treat for parasites and monitor as a precaution. But i felt bad for it... its pretty pathetic looking and It was in a tank of ciclids so either it was getting any of the food or its sick. Felt bad to not bring it home and try.

What do you guys think
Beef em up jaws. I think that you can turn his situation around, polys are pretty hardy and you have enough experience.

You can turn that poly into a beautiful beast, I know you will. :)

Thx man. Im italian we fear all things skinny hahah

So far it hasnt eaten but thats not surprising. Not sure what to do with it when the pg treatments are over. Normally i would leave it in qt for a few more weeks and get it eating bit with this im not sure being crammwd in the little 10 gal qt is gonna help.

What do you think ?

I personally would leave be until it starts eating well, and gains some weight. I would say otherwise but you are a seasoned poly vet lol.:)

My three bigger polys that I bought from LFS are just as skinny. It looks pretty funny cause they have big heads and a slender body. I'm beefin them up on whole frozen anchovies. That guys gonna look awesome when it beefs up.
