Your pictures are all great. This one I really like--it shows her teeth. I've never seen my pacus' teeth, except for the sharp points on the incisal edges of their teeth.

i love this pic as well...it's a shot you dont see too often of pacu.
and thanks for the kind words.

Our Leonardo is the tank bully. After eating, he usually gets very rambunctious and likes to chase Adonis around. When they were in the 55 gallon tank, he would herd all the fish to one end of the tank. The smallest oscar would usually be able to break free. I named him "Leo", because he is definitely king of the tank.

After Liz did a post about feeding potato slices, I tried it too. The second time I fed potato "chips" to them, one of the pacu in his greed, sucked in a slice which curled up in his mouth. He swam around with a potato "cigarette" protruding from his mouth. He seemed unable to eat it, or spit it out. He looked so funny. For awhile, I thought maybe I'd have to perform the Heimlich Manuever on him! I ran to get my camera, but I was too late, he had managed to eat the potato chip. I got two short video clips of some of the feeding action.

In this last clip--the end of the feeding session--the water is full of potato debris. Adonis somehow manages to get the best of Leonardo the bully, who chases him to try to get Adonis' potato chip, while his own potato slice is at the other end of the tank. Adonis inhales his chip which is stuck in his mouth, so he is unable to pick up Leonardo's last chip. Someone commented that it looked like Leonardo is grinning after he downs his last chip. I thought I had turned the microphone off, but I didn't. Unbeknownst to him, my husband gives a running commentary, which adds to the video:)

Well, it looks like it is time to start a pacu club!! Just kidding, seriously, no one start another club. They are anoying.

I haven't taken any new pics lately. I need to do that. I will post them here asap.

Demjor, I feed mine baby carrots, too. They usually swim around, holding them like a cigar for a while, then start chewing. Have you heard the crunching yet? You can stand across the room and hear mine crunching carrots. It's so funny.
Everyone else, awesome pacu pics...Keep them coming!:D

isnt it hilarious!? ill throw a few carrots in and sit here listening to her crunch away on them. she likes to pin them against the glass and chew on them as they spin in her mouth.

to everyone else who posted pics...they all look great! keep them coming! i had no idea there were this many of us "pacu people" on here! this is great!

This is the 55 gal. tank with fish that my husband picked up at a moving away yardsale:
They look fantastic as always ..are they the same oscars you saved along with them?

Sadly, Sammy passed away from HITH (it's a wonder the other fish didn't get sick). After his passing, two of the oscars ganged up on Freddy, the runt oscar. Freddy lives in the old 55 gallon tank by himself. We lost the two plecos last year, so we're down to 5 of the original 8 tank inhabitants.

Speaking of cats, our precious princess cat was the chief pet in our home until the fish moved in. She gets really jealous when we pay attention to the fish and not her. We told her she could be our Pacu Kitten. Here's the first clip. You can hear Pacu Kitten screaming her head off for attention. She's absolutely heartbroken that the fish have our attention and not her.

My husband holds her out with one hand under her chest and rocks her, walking back and forth in front of the tank. He says, "Pacu Kitten goes swim swim swim, Pacu Kitten goes swim swim swim". There is a parade inside and outside the tank as the pacu follow along, back and forth, following their Dad with their cat sister. I'm going to have to video that sometime. Here's Pacu Kitten cooling off by swimming back to the boat:
