You guys seem smart, i know these get pretty big and i kinda want one. Do you think one would be fine in a 225 gallon tank thats 6 feet long or would he out grow it?

sorry to tell you that he will out grow that size tank... these guys are monsters and need lots of space... guys on here talk about tanks at least a 1000+... consider the length and the width of the tank, they need a good amount of space to turn... thats why i am currently saving for the big tank build, cause i want my little guy to have the monster fish life...

aren't they pretty temperature tolerant? You would think a catfish could survive a cold streak (power outage) maybe I'm not understanding what killed it though...

it wasnt the temperature drop, it was the lack of oxygen in the water as you could probablly see the tank was over crowded but had more the sufficient filtration when running, but when the filtration stopped, in the middle of the night when i didnt know, the fish all died
