I guess you could use fake plants. But honestly live plants are easier and cheaper (as long as you aren't doing fancy orchids) for a proper dart setup. The big thing with darts is learning to culture fruit flies.

Haven't had a vivarium and dart frogs for a long time. Too busy now with family and the never-ending home maintenances. I would probably have at least one set-up if their food came in a can like most fish. But yeah, miss having it.
