I picked up this group of 5 pyrocephalus. 3M2F. 2 proven pairs. First time owner of this geo. Very nice fish!

I took some troph juvies to

yesterday to ship to a buyer in NY. While I was there I picked up these beautiful sveni. I had every intention NOT to buy them, but when I saw them in person I was done 
They’re 3.5-4.5”. Incredible trailers on their caudal & pelvic fins.
QT’ing atm. May end up keeping them as a single species, may add them to the 500g w the red heads, AUL, clown loaches & fire eel….maybe

My first collecting of a true mineral rich water, high pH Geophagus crassilabrus, caught at a pH of 8.2, and hard water.
It was caught in fairly shallow, fast flowing water (only at most a foot deep), netted with the non-gophagine, Central American earth eater, Darienheros calobrensus.
Netted in Jan 2026, and easily converted to prepared food such as flake, and pellets, and it has done well the last 6 months.
So far thoug hit is the only one of the species collect so far, and I believve it is a female.
It shares a 180 gal tank with 4 Darienheros cichlids, a couple Rhamdia cat fish, from the same rider, as waa 6 inch knife fish.
and a few Chaetestoma plecos..
