elephant tusk its quite old trying to find out what it was used for it has a 2mm hole in the back the dealer thinks it was for a belt or something from japan i guess??

That's what I thought... then it's called a netsuke. A clothing item, worn by the belt. It's very colletible nowadays. Netsuke originally made of wood.... the ivory ones are becoming more popular and has higher collectible values.
