  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
not to break this thread but like Duane said unless you know where they are from you could be getting a mess, on a sidenote I went to Texas last month to get pure H. Cyanoguttatus from the border the real deal not some lfs carpintis cyanoguttatus flowerhorn or whatever crap....sorry had to rant at the end hahaha

Thats why I will only buy Carpintis from a reliable breeder.

I have gotten to the point the only fish I will get from a LFS is Plecos lol.

Okay, so I have read on another thread here about escondido carpintis and it was mentioned that from this particular area they have vein coloration in the face instead of spots. Is this really the case? or is it probably that both colorations can come from the same area?

Escondido seem to have a good bit more worming on the face than the others. I noticed the Vontehillo seem to have a lot of worming on the face and guill plate where the Escondido the worming is extended out over the head and some times to the fins.

There is debate on whether or not there is any real difference but if you look up pure localities you will find there is subtle differences between the different localities. They come from lagoons pretty cloes to each other, and I have been told flood some times connecting each other. That said look them up on youtube as adults you will notice they do tend to be a little different from each other.
