Your female is stunning prox, what a beauty! I havent measured mine, but im guessing 25 accross for the female and around 20 for the male, maybe even bigger. Its hard to tell in a huge tank where every fish has exceded their limits :p
 
Ive wanted histrix for a while now so i think im going to finally do it. Ive know someone who is importing some WC ones now but if theyre not true histrix what will they be? Anyone know what rays being imported as histrix typically are now and how big they will get? They look very similar?
 
I have seen rays labeled as "yellow hystrix" that are actually orbignyi, which get way bigger than hystrix. I haven't seen any of the vendors on here bringing in true hystrix for quite some time.

Pic of my 2 Hystrix pups born in August last year ... nearing the 8inch mark, and eating like pigs ... getting close to being put in the big tank, but they still cant eat a whole massivore so i'm waiting until then

Those are 8-9 months old and near 8"? The female pup from my first litter is a year and a half old and maybe 7". Mine all seem to grow really slow.
