Let's see those Oscars

I just wonder how I'm going to find one! No one seems to have crassipinnis. From what I gather, the fish that were labeled as A. Orbicularus have been confirmed to just be a locality of regular oscars and not a separate species.

Crassipinnis are hard to find, Ive only seen them offered a hand full of times online in my 15 years of being active in the online fish scene. I got mine from the Wet Spot....really inexpensive at the time as well.

As for Orbicularis I kept one and have heard they are confirmed Astronotus morphs....but I will say the one I had was different from any other Astronotus I have kept. It was very deep bodied, much larger growing as well. I kept wild Peruvian Os and they did not get nearly as tall, thick or long. Mine was about 14" when it sadly passed. Given the fish was less than 3 years old it had a lot of time left to grow. I had my old 6ft tank moved to my mother's business after I moved houses....fish didn't make the trip so well. It also had a very nasty temperament. I had considered buying another last time Rapps offered them but I went with the Crass instead because I figured Id not see another offered for sale in quite awhile.

good looking O,s Odd!
