Thanks for the nice comments guys!:) The Dovii are f-2 Nicaraguan. Their main diet is market shrimp and Hikari floating food sticks. My lighting is Coralife mini-compacts with white and actinic bulbs so it plays a part in the color. In natural sunlight he still has the rainbow coloring but his fins are more turquoise blue. The RTM are a wild caught pair I've only had for about two weeks now. A few more shots in natural light.Substrate plays a role in color also.Notice how the RTM look lighter with the white sand substrate then they are in the first pics with bare bottom tank. :)Mike

Thanks a lot but I'm jealous of that dovii of yours. Your thread a while back with pictures like this has made me want to add one.

Thanks Terd! I wished you lived closer I would give you some Dovii fry. Mike

VMike~

I agree with others - this is one of the nicest Doviis on MFK! Do you have a 3-D background on your tank? Where did you get it?

VMike's dovii is tied for first as far as I'm concerned. This is my other favorite. I can't remember now whose it was, but I think it's dead now.

This one has the size, but VMike's has the color. When VMike's hits two feet, it will have no equal.:D

VMike - excuse my american geography but is Nicaraguan the name of the river the F0's were caught from? also the lighting you mention- are they fluros or different bulbs altogether.

Sorry guys i know this is a little off the threads topic!!!!

No problem Cuban and I should have been more specific.Yes,the original wc parents came from the Central American country Nicaragua I was told.I don't know the exact collection point in the country though.
The mini-compacts have two 9watt flourescent bulbs. One is 10K white I believe and the other is actinic blue.:) Mike
