I thought bare bottom meant no substrate, and not no decorations.
Would a tank with gravel and no decorations be considered bare bottom?

Bare Bottom means bare with nothing but glass, and also no plants/wood/rocks or anything else on that bare glass...........

van - how do you get your tank bottom so black? spray paint?

I painted it with black acrylic. Spray paint gives the same result though. It looks blacker if you keep the bottom as clean as the sides.
