R.I.P.
Casper was my most favorite fish to date. We went thru so much. He arrived from Jeff Rapps at 1.5in

And in no time he picked a mate and started to breed, he had five spawns. They ended up at The Wet Spot, so it gives me happiness to know his prodigy may be all over America.

Sadly though as cichlids are he removed his mate from existence

Well, sad news to report today, friends. I had to put Casper down tonight.

I don't have much to say about it. Still kind of in shock. He was getting older and had definitely been slowing down so it wasn't necessarily unexpected, but that doesn't mean it didn't suck. He got to the point where he was obviously suffering and there wasn't much more that could be done.

I like to think we gave him a good three years as part of our family. We'll miss him greeting us in the morning and watching TV with us at night.

He'll always have a special place in my heart...
Was posted in his thread. I had him four years, plus another three for a total of 7 years. Maybe could have lived longer if I didn't put him through so much stress when he was young from breeding and moving tank to tank, trying to get him to coexist with other fish. We will never know.
It does make me happy knowing his fry could be all over America though so he lives on.
