How did that cam swap go? I used to have a 454 back in the 80's. Great engineThis is a new one for me, a '73 C10
Doing plenty of work to it at the moment. It's got a nice 454 already, doing a cam swap in it this week.

It's still going. When we got down to the valve springs (got new ones matching the cam, of course), the guy that built the engine didn't machine them down (cutting corners), it was running outer springs and some bearing thing for inner springs. So to fit the new inner springs on the new cam the heads need to be machined and new valve seals put in, OR I can just run the outer springs and lose some top end power. So kind of mulling that around.
But also got a bigger carb, some other goodies.
