Lets see your cars!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My thing is you can make anything fast. I am still a V8 guy. I think the main V8 approach comes from just the upper models of older muscle and other things were V8 and that's how it should be. I do too think a pony car or muscle car should have a V8 or its wrong. But doesnt mean they aren't fast. The new camaros push like 323hp out of the V6 and my V8 is probably somewhere I'm the 200 hundreds ..... I hope :p. My stock engine was only rated for 195 (which isn't In) again you can make anything fast ! But I like the sound and feel of a V8 but I don't think it's very productive or logical but still wouldn't give it up. 4 bangers are where its at for fuel and family cars not race car ;)

So a sub 7sec 1/4 mile 4 cylinder wouldn't be considered a race car?

Lol, it's hard for me to comment on Mustangs, I don't have much experience with them, but what about costs associated with bringing the car itself up to handling more power? With GM muscle cars, if you choose the V8, you get stiffer springs/suspension, a stronger rear axl, a much much stronger transmission, even more bracing in some areas, That alone is worth more to me than a couple thousand. Heck, the radiator and cooling alone is probably 5-6 hundred dollars in upgrades from a 6 cylinder, on a GM.

Most of the cars are the same. Any weak points the V6 Mustang has, the GT also has. The rear end is diffenet, but that is a couple hundred tops, and can fall into the money saved from buying the V6 to start with. Even the stock GT rear end should be addressed if you are making real power or plan on beating on it.

Depends on which gen of GM your referring to. Even with slightly better parts in some areas they still will need upgrading..
Also V8 parts like for the LS1 are way cheaper and many more options than for a V6..

I would like to see this. A family friend has a 2400hp turboed v8 that only runs sub 8 so I wanna see a 4 cylinder do it. But like I said you can make anything fast. I dont see the point in making the 4 cylinder a racecar though.

You do understand that a lot of Rally Cars are 4 cylinders right. Are you saying Rally cars are not worth it?

I'll leave it to F1 Vet to describe what a 4cyl race car looks like...

I'd take care of you all in my cousins 1989 supercharged mini cooper.. I can barely control the damn thing haha its beast I think he has a supercharged v6 in it. Total weight plays a lot into the acceleration as far as I've seen, and he made that thing to be a rally car and light as a feather.. I can pick up the rear end by myself haha

Then again I am 6 foot 4 inch at 210 lbs.. Mostly muscle now thanks to a messed medication I had to be on to live properly
