Wow, over 700 posts since this thread was created and a lot of sweet whips...glad I got to catch up.

I recently maxed out my mods for being N/A and dyno'd the M and hit my goal of 400.05 to the wheels!

This was the first recorded pull @ the shop, I have been partially deaf since that day

Thumbs up!! Nothing like making power, with some style!!lol :)

Thank you for the positive feedback F1, I appreciate it.

I agree, BMW did step it up with the e90 series M3; a v8 that produced its 414bhp @ 8400rpm was very unique; as was the N/A 3.2L Inline 6 in the e46 M3 w/ 333hp @ 8k rpm.

The ///M engines are slowly losing their uniqueness...I personally am disappointed they are basically using the 335i twin-turbo Inline 6 in the new M4/M3. Everything is F/I nowadays to keep up with the competition and also to produce more hp/tq and slightly better fuel economy.

And you are correct on your #'s, around 470+ to the crank on 91 octane I would assume as I beat a slightly modded C63 AMG.
I have a race map file w/ my tune for 100+ octane that would put me around 500bhp

Here is my favorite part of the car besides the engine

Sexier then most women IMO lol....but cars are right there with women in my world, you can drive them hard and park them for days!

I had the chance to drive a '07 dinan M5 (exhaust/chip/intake) and man that thing was torquey, not sure I dig the throttle by wire system as the revs are a bit awkward to time but that's no problem when your balls out. My parents had a 2005 528 with the M kit, nothing special but on prom night I got it to 168mph!

Now brake by wire is coming to the foreground along with losing manual gearboxes, but I understand the need for a sequential gearbox/paddle shifters in a well powered car, can't beat the split second shift timing but controlling revs with a clutch feels right!

Formula One has brought so many advancements to the table as far as road cars go, now with these 2014 spec V6 Turbo Hybrids I'm curious to see where this all leads when translated into cars!

That year M5 you drove is another example of an amazing engine; that v10 just screams! Specially that it was modded you must have had fun.

I have never gone north of 160 (thats crazy how you achieved that in a non-M as usually they have governors) but my car's governor is now de-limited after the tune so im sure I could with ease with my new Michelin Super Sport tires but only in specific places will I risk it! haha

I checked out that page, Manual transmissions for life! ;)

I would like to see this. A family friend has a 2400hp turboed v8 that only runs sub 8 so I wanna see a 4 cylinder do it.

Yes you did... oh and he ran 2 seconds faster and has less than half of the power. This is the same argument heard all across the internet.... As a true car guy I have an appreciation for speed in all forms.

Cool, 31s? I have a project or two, Ill always go through a few different rim and tire combos. Ive had my 72 Firebird for about 4 years and had 3 goin on 4 different
rim and tire combinations! Not as expensive as it sounds, I like having various stock rims so I usually find them cheap, but tires are usually a bit more.

yea...decent treads 31x10.5's and those rims for $180. I was in a dire need for some kind of tires as my other ones were shot.
