Nice cars, I had a 86 grand national I shouldn't have sold and I currently have a 70 skylark.

I heard about the 6.0, new and old...

I'm aiming for a 1999-2003 with a 7.3L diesel...must be a crew cab, haven't decided on 6 speed manual or the auto gearbox. Thoughts?

manual. The autos are not great trannies. I wish ours were autos. The only automatic I would want with a diesel would be an Allison. I like manuals better in every instance besides drag racing and in traffic. I say that and we're getting an automatic in our new truck; hopefully it will be a Kenworth T680 but it has to go to bid so we might end up with another junk freightliner or international

weaksauce?
it is very slow and doesn't tow for crap. We just had a bunch of stuff fixed on it too but I think there has been something else wrong worth it when we got it.

GNX?....I've always liked the Regals of this body style.Buick pretty much killed the car when they came out with the next body style.

Blasphemy! Quit taking crap about my w-bodies, lol.

i will disagree on that, but I will agree that 88-96 regals were a big step down, although I would disagree that in general g-bodies going to w-bodies were a disgrace. Would I rather have a turbocharged GNX than a 97-03 supercharged GS, probably yes, but i still love my 98 GS.

Okay..."a step down" is a good description for that model.I haven't seen any around in years.

so they can't tow for crap because of what they are, or your could not?

Your truck reminded me that I have a 2007 Silverado with 10,441 miles. (My Prius V that I got in late July already has more than 11,000 miles.) The truck doesn't see that much action, and may not have run since we brought it home in September. It's primary purpose is to get the boat to the lake. I really like the dual climate control. I'm usually cold in damp swimwear and can't stand the AC blowing on me, and my husband is hot from running up a steep boat ramp to retrieve the truck to pull the boat out of the water in record time. AC for him, heater for me (unless it's 114 degrees).
