I appreciate that. He's a pretty tough dog. He'll be alright. Judging by the pattern he had to be at least 40 yards or so away. Bird shot can definitely penetrate and kill at close enough range but he was pretty much peppered all over. I'm not really sure what they were doing and why at this time of the year they would have bird shot loaded, (glad they did) its deer season. I filed a police report and put up new trespassing signs. Pups actually already up and getting around pretty good. He had several shot in his lip and head. So thankful he didn't get one in the eye
