leucistic puff faced water snake

I'm curious, could you describe your setup a bit more in detail, with possibly a full-tank picture? What're your temps like? Do you use any special lighting for it? Any interesting behavioural traits that you've noticed?

I would like to know the answers to those questions and more. How large do these guys get? And would they do well with oscars and cichla? I know nothing about these guys.

I think they get between three and four feet. They're not large but certainly would make a good "centerpiece" for any mid-sized aquarium. As for putting it with larger fish, I donno. Assuming the fish would leave it alone, I don't think it'd try to go after anything that big so it might work. Maybe a bit of trial and error would be required. Regardless of how aquatic they appear though, it will always be important to have a spot to allow them to get out of the water if they so choose.

OMG I WANT ONE!!! whats ur tank size temp and everything like everyone is saying! where do u buy these beast! legal in cali?

Knowing California the closest you'd could get to legally owning one of these is throwing an earth worm in an aquarium. Just make sure you have the proper permits for collecting earth worms...

It's in a 25gal tank with drift wood and floating drift for land never uses it. there's platys and mollies in there for it to eat but will leave the small ones and to big of ones alone. the platys are actually breeding in the tank. This one was WC. That i know of there are only a few leucistic homalopsis buccata floating around in the US there could be possibly more i no clue were they are or who's working with them. I know of a reptile co. in Fl working with albinos but i have no clue how fare they got with them but they do appear for sale time to time. The water temp is 84 and for light reptile heat lights with screen cover. Black walls and black sand with a sword plant growing. kept it simple. The have good attitudes when it comes to handling but they don't do very well on land they have a hard time slithering on it. Unlike most water snakes they have a very smooth skin kind of like a python or a ring neck snake.

That's interesting, I never thought about handling. How often do you handle it? Has it ever shown any aggression towards you? Do you have to do any extra cleaning on the tank, or is it similar to keeping any other aquatic animal?
