I have been deworming the clowns for the past month. 3 doses. This is should have been last one. I put the dose last night and today I see red worms. Questions is why? I should have seen this during the 1st dose. It looks like blood worms. But I only feed freeze dried bloodworms. Do I have Callamanus worms or regular worms. I am also rarely feeding bloodworms. I am feeding chopped shrimp. Tag. RD. RD.

Yes they are alive. I have been washing it every week. I have not see this. The ceramics are left alone. How to differentiate callamanus for bloodworms. Plus didn't see it coming out from fish anus.

If you aren't feeding live bloodworms then what you're seeing unfortunately is camallanus worms. Make sure to turn off the lights when dosing levamisole as its affected by light. Also, an extremely large water change and thorough cleaning of gravel/fitlers to remove the worms/eggs is essential as fish will get re-infested. If I am not mistaken levamisole does not kill the worms but paralyses them and they loose the grip and drop out from the fish. So to break the cycle you need extreme maintenance. It needs an intermediate hosts like inverts to reproduce so I'd stop any live food, or raw food, if you're feeding them. In fact, its said camallanus eggs could be in any frozen foods too.

The fact that your fish are still alive means the treatment is somewhat working but not fully yet if you're seeing that many worms...

Good luck, fingers crossed. Levamisole is normally effective for these.

I don't have gravel. I have made an side filter. Sort of an internal sump. Or maybe an internal canister filter. I found out an hour ago that the pump got turned off. And probably since 3 or 4 days ago it got unplug. Luckily I have another filter and Airpump. Also since it got unplug, all Worm went up. I have turned it on. Mistake. I should have bombed it. Now if it is callamanus. What medications should I use to target it. Remember I can remove this canister. It is inside. Argh

Guy I am thinking of using neguvon. I don't know if it can kill all those eggs. So put it in a tank. Kill everything in main tank. I hope neguvon doesn't kill the filter. When return after treatment to main tank. Do neguvon on the other tank...?
