Tried a few aquabids but try to stay away from shipping if just for 1 or 2 fish. Looking for anywhere between 5-10. Anyone know of a place to get these in reasonable driving distance of Philadelphia? That fish place will not order them so within a few hours drive if I could.

Try Absolutely Fish in Clifton, NJ (about a 2 hour drive from Phili)... 973-365-0200. They will take an order over the phone, and call you when they get it in stock.

Another place to try would be The Aquarium Center in Clementon, NJ (about 45 minute drive from Phili)... 856-627-6262.

I just thought of 2 more places you can try... The Fish Factory in Bristol, PA (on Veteran's Highway just off of 95... 25 minutes from Phili), and The Hidden Reef in Levittown, PA (5 minutes away from The Fish Factory).

The fish factory was crazy over priced last time i was there.

I agree that The Fish Factory is a bit over-priced. About 6 months ago, I asked if I could order a Baby Sunshine Pleco from them. The guy said he could order it. A week later, he called me to let me know he got a 2" in stock. I came by to look at it, and he was asking $80 for it... I've seen baby Sunshines go for between $40-$60. anyway, this Sunshine looked a bit lackluster and slightly picked at. It also wasn't moving about much. I asked the guy if he could hold it for a few days, and I would buy it in 3 days. When I came back 3 days later, the guy told me that Baby Sunshine was too stressed, and not eating, and it had died. I was a bit sad, but also glad I didn't pick it up right away.

Wow that could have gone bad... Although, it is never good to see a fish die, I rather not have to break the bank to see it die in my own tank, and especially because their policy is horrible on dead fish returns. I returned a gold nugget once after paying $40 for about 2.5" and they denied me because the said that my green phantom killed it because it had a white mark on it that was there previous to the introduction to the tank. I now refuse to pay for any fish there anymore.
