Central American cichlids are generally "ugly" (no color) at small sizes (sizes LFSs buy) and don't sell well, and also tend to grow larger and be more aggressive than what the typical LFS patron can/wants to handle.

And you got the where you get your fish, what location ppl. Petsmart lfs not good enough even if the fish is a pure breed Festae. Gotta have a name behind it like Rapps or something to feel valueable secure because their knowledge not good enough to be sure of what the fish is so they dont buy from lfs..
If you want Centrals near Tampa, Don Conkel is just up the road from you in Odessa, and so are a number of other fish farms. Last time I was in Tampa, I brought back Vieja regani and argentea, Paratheraps gibbiceps and Herichthys pearsei.
