Lfs fish Supplier?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They wouldn't get another dollar from me being not just unprofessional, but rude ontop of it. most the private lfs I know order from multiple suppliers... That being said if you want say a Rapps Texas ... buy directly from him... or if your looking for a particular bloodline/supplier... look them up BEFORE buying from you store after confirming they can order you one from that source ( when your only buying a few fish saving on shipping by having you lfs order it in w/ their shipment sometimes is still cheaper)

Oh and next time I would just swallow my pride and ask my usual place for a special order ect.. I've had this happen on occasion. I simply ask them to order certain fish if they can.. and they generally don't hold them for me unless I call on shipment day saying i'll be in late or the next day ect....

Yea im just gonna stick with my lfs from now on

I think most stores would be willing to help if they see OP as a guy wanting to know the origin of his fish and not a competitor.
As far as they speaking in different language and laughing, you guys can't be sure about what was said. You get different level of service with different stores. Maybe they were talking sh## or maybe they really don't know. But many ESL LFS owners at my area act like that but they're super chill and genuine.

Well I got a big Oscar one time and they had to put it in a styrofoam box and had the supply company name on it

The only issue I have with that is that customer service is all about perception. They could have said, "This guy wants to know about our fish supplier. Maybe we should actually find out who we order from." But the perception is that they were saying something rude and disrespectful. That perception is all that matters to a customer and it can be the thing that ends up losing their business. It would certainly have lost mine.

Unfortunately, customer service is a dying ideal these days. Businesses seem to think they can treat people like crap and still expect to see them come spend money at their stores (Walmart actually succeeds there). I guess maybe I am just old fashioned that way, but if you don't respect me, I will take my business elsewhere.

Boxes will always have their names on the box even if it is just on the shipping label and not bolded on the cardboard itself. But as someone else pointed out, some LFSs purchase from multiple wholesalers in order to get the fish their customers desire in stock because wholesalers don't always have the fish a retail store is looking for. So having multiple wholesalers to purchase from will give their customers a greater chance of being able to order in a fish they want if it can't be found in the store. So it's better to ask an employee where they get their fish from, especially if you are talking about a specific fish.
