Absolutley Fish Clifton NJ (Not my favorites they only carry small stuff and a bit expensive but worth the ride if going to aquascape as they about 15min. apart)
That helps me because I've heard of Absolutely before and have been itching to take the drive.I will trust your rating and save gas by not making that trip lol....What about Pet Shanty?..It is a few miles down the road from Sharkaquarium and although I've only been there once,it was a nice store and I will visit again when I am in the area and have time to stop in.Who's been there?

Yea dude definately not worth the ride from Philly. Aquascapes store is good about 20 min from Shark.

Found a Pets Plus in Philadelphia,

Pets Plus Pet Ctr.
9902 Roosevelt Boulevard
Philadelphia, PA 19115
(215) 673-5400

I was out checking out the other places in the Philadelphia area that are on this list, And just happened to notice the sign when driving by. I Was helped by a guy named Matt. Awesome guy, Really knew his stuff, and was helping me find everything I was looking for. Also got me hooked up with a 30% off for my next visit. No Expiration date! And the amount of African Cichlids they had... Nice store. Will definitely be back. Also, Ordered me an EBJD should be in in two weeks.

Also checked out The Fish Factory. They had what I was looking for 38g Aqueon Tank but their price was higher then the local Petco $75.99 vs $65.67 at Petco. I asked for a price match and they couldn't do it. Definitely worth the stop, seen some things their with great pricing. And lots of selection, Knowledgeable staff, and that USED section is FANTASTIC! Will definitely be on my let's go to this store list.

Went back to The Hidden Reef to show the niece some of the sharks they have their and as before Awesome Selections and Pricing. But I'm not impressed with the staff The guy that helped me wasn't very quick on the draw and when he got help from someone else they had no idea either. (The inquiry was, "What Micron sizing are these filter socks? And do you guys carry any other sizes then this?". They also couldn't Price Match what I wanted The (38G Aqueon Tank).. The response to the price match question was. "We don't price match anything". I had a handful of stuff about $200.00 I put it back and left. I'm not saying I won't go back to THR, I'm just certain I'll call and see if they have what i want before hand and what it costs.

Mike.

i go to both fish factory and hidden reef(they only price match each other when one is having a sale)fish factory has more knowledgable staff and you should check out they annual yard sale lots of used stuff cheap.

Will do that, thnx for the tip.

I like a lot of the places already mentioned here. Pety Shanty & Colonial Pets, Shark Aquarium are 2 of my favorites.

Also check out

Aquatic Obsessions - The guys here are really good. Its mostly salt stuff and though I don't know much about that its just a really nice store. Fresh selection is not as good but they have a lot of quality fish others don't. (1150 Saint Georges Avenue in Avenel, NJ 07001)

AE Aquatics - It's a small shop specializing in Piranhas, the guys are good thier place is small but pack with a whole mess of awesome fish.(779 Ave A Bayonne NJ, 07002)

1) Board vendor Ira @ The Wish List / Bronx, NY (Not an LFS but definitely worth checking out)

2) Tropical Island Aquarium / 2112 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. (631)667-0795. Very clean store. Tanks are kept in immaculate condition. Primarily stock salt water and African rift lake stuff but they've been branching out into New World stuff. They also got rays, arowanas, discus, etc. The cleanest LFS I've been to yet. They're open every day except Monday.

I agree Ira's place is always stocked with excellent selection and top quality, always worth a stop when i am in new york. I havent gotten a fish from him that i didnt like and always turn out to be top quality show fish.

Oh yeah, here's one I discovered while driving out to meet a member...Fishtown USA,735 RT.17s Ramsey New Jersey 07446.......Nice place that seemed like it has been around for some years.Plenty of planted tanks and they had a three foot albino redtail catfish as a store mascot.
