To me thats an understandable mark-up for a small LFS. And I've seen crazy prices on fish in their store before, but I also thought that it is understandable because the price they pay + shipping + the cost of feeding/maintaining the fish + paying the staff adds up (at least thats how I reason it) But I can't understand a crazy mark-up of $200 on a dry item that will expire eventually sitting on the shelf and they will lose all of their money on it if that happens
I think I'll just let it go, but I've also thought of sending the manager a letter in the mail with about 5-10 printouts of other places selling it for 20-40 dollars and explaining how I believe there has to be a mistake with their pricing, if not it is none of my concern what they decide to price things as, but I just wanted to make them aware of the drastic difference in price from their shelf to everyone else's.
