How were you using them? Salifert and LaMotte are many times more consistent, and much easier to use. Seachems are more consistent then the API, which I have actually tried a several tests at the same time, and found that they are inaccurate. Only a few tests actually were testing the same readings, and that was with 4 master test kits, and 4 of the same test never lined up all together.

API are inaccurate, I agree with you.:D Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I do a 50% every week. With big predators thats what you should do also.

hujeta looks nice

dodgefreak8 covered everything except taking the swords out of those containers

My tank still has 0 nitrates and I know its not my test kit because I brought it to two different LFS.

good point remove the swords from the pots and add a fert tab.

I use Kent plants plus. One cap every two days. My plants look so much better now.

If you really want to enhance your nitrate removal add a water column feeder like java fern. Then you will really notice a reduction in nitrate

Whats a water column feeder? A top water plant?

Certain plants will feed from the water column itself, some feed primarily from the substrate. Plants do not have to be floating to take up nutrients from the water column, although if they are, they aren't taking their nutrients from the substrate.
