I know how you feel I too am getting out of the army soon, but bottom line family needs > any fish.

+1 on the pond idea. There are solar panels that can be put on the trailer to offset the electrical costs/demands of heating a pond. A plastic greenhouse helps too. I wouldn't want to get rid of your setup either. "This we'll defend".

Till the end!

I'm open to the idea of using a big rubbermaid tub to keep the fish. A ~300 gallon getup that could probably fit through the door shouldn't cost too much. Is this what you guys mean by pond? I don't know if I'd be comfortable putting the fish in an outdoor pond.

How bout some kind of pond similar to necros bed frame tank? It would distribute the weight better over a larger footprint and give you the room u need to keep everyone :). Or just a larger footprint low gallon tank so it doesnt go through the floor like a 5'x3'x18". Heck you could even flip ur 150 on its side, recut the front glass and have the 6'x30" footprint to hold ur boys over for quite some time.

Now THAT is thinking outside of the box!

The problem with ponds and other large setups, like my 510, is getting them in the house and finding a place for them once they're in there. I'm considering a Rubbermaid tub for them, but I run into the same issue. The house is TINY and I'd have to give damn near a whole room for a tank, and there's not many rooms to sacrifice. I'm also trying to get a buddy to let me keep the fish at his house for a bit, but that proposition is dubious at best.

I reckon the safest thing to do would be to sell off the easily replaceable fish. Max, my gatf, is quite unique. I'm also very emotionally invested in him as a pet so I'm not willing to part with him. Dottie, the goonch, was described as the dwarf species, commonly called Bagarius bagarius, though its description as both a dwarf and a B. bagarius is very open to criticism and review. I'm beginning to suspect that 'dwarf goonchs' will in fact get large. More on that later.

My aro, jur and loaches are all fine specimens but could be replaced easily if I wait for the right season. The fact that Max has started tagging the aro regularly has all but sealed the deal; I need more target fish and that would be counterproductive at this point.

Anyway, I'm off to go make a for sale thread.
