I've never been a huge fan of RDs but every time I see a picture of yours with that deep orange and the black speckles on top it makes me want to go out and buy one in hopes that it looks as good. You have some absolutely beautiful fish.
Thanks:)

SA/CA but I get what you mean. Most people expect something different in this size tank. Thanks for the comment;)

The ONLY reason to keep cichlids! don't get me wrong but if I had your stock I'd easily "sacrifice" 800G to keep them! and AMAZING pics!
haha...Most people often wonder why I don't have Pbass, aros etc in such a large tank. I learned years ago to stay true to what you like or you will soon lose interest in the hobby. Thanks for the reply;)

+1! Although all of the fish are awesome.
;)

I love all your cichlids... i love your camera skill... i love when you share them with us... just beautiful.........

First of all -your pics have improved SO much, well done on that front.

secondly that RT is a Brute fish, seeing him just breaks my heart more back when modest-mans passed away in shipment to me, they look so similar.

Hey I just watched your video on youtube.. Awesome job on the build! A lot of people I have seen on here have built plywood tanks and they end up leaking. Is yours still holding up perfect? My boyfriend is going to build one when we get a house. Was that fiberglass resin you used over top of the wood and the sillicone caulking?

Like the day it was finished and I honestly don't foresee any problems with the tank in the future. Being fiberglassed inside and out removes the need for external bracing and even allows me to hose it down to clean it. More importantly, the tank is 100% sealed.:D
You can get build details from the build thread in my sig or pm for any info.
To answer the rest for now. The resin of choice was Bote Cote Epoxy(A marine epoxy for timber boat building similar to West Systems but completely free of amine blush and a thicker viscosity)in conjunction with fiberglass matting(Woven roving).Glass window was sealed in with aquarium silicone.:)

Great Pics
